We built this because
the advice wasn't working.
Every productivity system we tried was designed for someone with one job, one boss, and one set of priorities. Freelancing doesn't work like that. We needed something different.
It started with a very bad Tuesday.
Three client emails arrived within the same hour. One wanted to add a feature. One moved their deadline up by a week. One hadn't responded in two weeks and suddenly needed everything by Friday. There was no system in place for any of it. Just a to-do list that kept getting longer.
The experience that followed — trying every app, reading every productivity book, attempting every workflow system — revealed something important. Most of these tools assume you're managing tasks. Freelancers are actually managing relationships, expectations, and time simultaneously. That's a different problem.
Wunori Buruma grew out of the process of designing a system that actually addressed the right problem. Not how to get more done, but how to make better decisions faster about what gets done, what gets deferred, and what gets renegotiated.
Four principles behind the framework
Logic over lists
A checklist tells you what to do. Decision logic tells you why. We teach the reasoning behind each framework step so you can adapt it when circumstances change — and they always do.
Tools are optional
The framework works with a notebook and a calendar app. It also works with sophisticated project management software. The system lives in your decision-making, not in a subscription.
Friction is information
When a client relationship creates persistent friction, that friction is telling you something. The framework teaches you to read that signal and respond to it rather than just push through.
Systems require maintenance
No system survives first contact with a new client unchanged. We build in regular review points so the framework evolves with your practice rather than becoming another abandoned tool.
Practical before theoretical.
Each module opens with a scenario. A real situation that freelancers encounter. Then it walks through the decision process for that situation using the framework. Theory comes after practice, not before. You understand why something works after you've seen it work.
The program is entirely self-paced. There are no live sessions to schedule around. No cohort deadlines. You move through the material when your week allows it, and the framework you're building is operational from the first module.
The framework is ready when you are.
